This week I've been in Exeter, Devon attending LikeMinds - an enterprising 3 day conference on technology, innovation and business.

LikeMinds is a chance for people to unite, converse and connect. It provides a playground of opportunity for brains to be exercised, ideas to be validated and friends to be made.

This particular conference is supported by a vibrant community that has evolved beyond the event itself: there is a loyal returning crowd.

As a first-timer, LikeMinds enabled me the opportunity to meet an incredible bunch of people. I was able to create IRL (in real life) meetings with those I'd followed and spoken to online.

I had lunch with some fascinating thought-leaders and spent our afternoon sessions "immersed" with groups of professionals and experts buzzing with practical ideas.

The LikeMinds guys craft a schedule that challenges delegates mentally and physically at every turn.

Racing between a map of different venues, I saw parts of Exeter I'd probably be unlikely to see under a regular conference programme. I saw over 30 speakers in 3 days and tweeted hundreds of thoughts.

Now exhausted, but thrilled, their relentless programme of thought-provoking, ass-kicking, idea-fuelling moments simply blew me away.

A final thought.

As humans, we need to physically feel something in order to create change. We need to feel an idea in order to make it happen. Friendships are formed from sharing a feeling and experiencing true emotion together.

This all happens at LikeMinds. It isn't about boring business thinking and death by powerpoint. This is about marrying together shared ideas and solidifying connections between humans with mutual interests. It creates a tangible, lasting feeling that is impossible to ignore.

For me, that lasting feeling is key.

This is the 'The LikeMinds Effect'.
